  2. Bilingual option available (If needed, please inform us at least one week before the event)

During this cozy winter gathering, we invite you to put your phones down and join an offline rooftop retreat.

We’ll begin the day simply with ourselves - using breath and gentle meditation to notice how we’re feeling in the present moment. For about two hours, without any outside distractions, we’ll explore the question: “What does my inner world look like when everything becomes quiet?” Is it calm? Tense? Restless? Or maybe filled with anticipation to meet the dogs?

Then, a few furry friends will join us. These dogs are from Stray Animal Home, waiting for adoption and curious to meet new people on this peaceful afternoon.

We’ll stretch together with them and sit in meditation with them nearby. They may wander quietly in the distance, come close and rest their head on your knee, or simply lie beside you as gentle companions.

During this time, you’ll be guided to observe your own reactions:

How does your body feel when the dogs are far away?

What shifts when they come close?

Do you soften? Feeling nervous? Or maybe joyful?

As the cool winter evening settles in, we’ll end the day with a warm private dinner on the rooftop.

In this cozy gathering, we’ll spend an offline winter afternoon observing, connecting, and gently rediscovering both ourselves and each other.

What To Expect

Wear your most comfortable clothes and bring environmentally friendly tableware.

Put down your phones and communicate with the world attentively.

Stay weird and stay unique.

Our Furry Companions: PACK Taiwan

Founded in 2016, PACK Taiwan is more than a shelter or nonprofit—it’s a sanctuary where overlooked dogs are given a second chance. PACK believes that every dog deserves a loving home, and until they find one, PACK becomes that home.

In addition to daily care, PACK developed “PACK Prep School,” a four-stage adoption program that helps former street dogs gradually adjust to living with a family. Their philosophy is simple: “There’s no perfect dog, but there is a perfect match.”

Even after a dog is adopted, the PACK team continues supporting the family through the transition. For them, the responsibility doesn’t end at adoption—adoption is just the beginning of a new journey.

Meet the Dogs

The dogs joining the event may be Mumu, Nuomi, Jiu Jiu, or Happy, two of them. Some may find their forever homes before the event (which would be the best news!), so the final companions will be confirmed on the day.

Mumu

A rare calm soul - friendly with people but never overly enthusiastic. With other dogs, he’s polite and keeps his distance. Gentle, steady, and a little playful in the sweetest way.

Nuomi

An INTP-type personality — expressive, charismatic, and full of contrast. Outdoors, he’s a loyal “bodyguard,” always alert and observant. At home, he’s affectionate and loves attention. Trusting, emotionally stable, confident, and gentle - a big brother with a soft heart.

Jiu Jiu

Often looks like he’s deep in thought (or daydreaming — we’re not always sure). Unlike most dogs, he won’t immediately perform commands for treats; he seems to “pretend not to hear” until he’s convinced you’re serious. Slow, friendly, and mindful, he has his own rhythm and reads the room well. His world carries a sense of Zen.

Happy

Steady, food-loving, and very interactive. Super smart and always paying attention to his human — he quickly learns commands and notices emotional cues. On the inside, he’s a total cuddle bug.

*Our furry friends might get a little excited in a new environment — so a bit of drool or a tiny bathroom oops may happen! Thanks for understanding and loving them anyway 🐶

*This session will be held in Mandarin

Meditation and Mindfulness of Emotions: Yoanna

“In a world that is so fast-paced, we all need to learn how to stay calm and move at our own pace.”

Yoanna has experienced healing and growth through Breathing Techniques, Yoga, and Meditation Practices, and she hopes to bring that experience to our attendees, too.

*This session will be held in Mandarin

*This session can be held bilingual. Send your request to our official LINE @soulbarn at least one week before the retreat if you need.

Meditation, Yoga, and Stretch with Dogs: Kiki

“Slowing down has been the greatest gift I’ve given myself.”

Before becoming a yoga instructor, Kiki worked in an environment where appearance and body shape were everything.

She held herself to extremely high standards, and in that constant pressure, she gradually lost touch with what her inner world truly needed.

Restlessness, anxiety, and self-criticism were part of her everyday life.

Everything shifted when yoga entered her life. Through each breath, Kiki learned to notice her own physical and emotional state, release long-held tension, and treat herself with more gentleness and compassion.

She discovered that when we allow ourselves to slow down, things begin to change: own rhythm, and every person deserves to be treated softly - including ourselves.

Space

As you step inside, the city noise fades, replaced by a calm, grounding quiet.

The Barn is a peaceful hideaway in the city — sunlight and fresh air flow through large windows, and the spacious terrace invites you to stretch, dance barefoot, or enjoy tea with friends as the sun sets.

The view of distant hills and sky brings a sense of everyday calm. If you look closely, you might spot the Maokong gondola slowly gliding across the skyline. The air feels light and clean, with a faint scent of wood.

Inside, there’s a cozy mix of wood, light, and plants that instantly makes you feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you can read, think, or just slow down for a bit.

You might realize that the peace you’ve been looking for has been right here the whole time.

Nourish

At Soul Barn’s community table, our private chef Roy will prepare warm, heartfelt plant-based meals just for you.

With over a decade of culinary experience, Roy brings a quiet passion for seasonal ingredients sourced from across Taiwan. As the former head chef at several plant-based restaurants and a winner of multiple international culinary awards, he has spent years exploring the unique nature of each ingredient — and discovering the gentlest way to bring out its true flavor.

Roy’s cooking philosophy challenges the old notions of vegetarian food. For him, it can be light, vibrant, and full of surprises. Every dish is prepared with intention and care, crafted to nourish both body and soul. You’ll taste the harmony of health and flavor in every bite — and maybe even be moved by how pure and satisfying plant-based cuisine can be.

Retreat Includes

  • Meditation and Breathing Techniques

  • Mindfulness of Emotions

In this exercise, we gently steady the breath and allow the mind to settle. From that stillness, we begin to observe our emotions rising and falling like tides — and reflect on how this awareness can be carried into the rhythm of everyday life.

  • Say hi to your Dogs!

A tender and honest encounter with our furry companions.

  • Yoga and Stretch with Dogs

With the dogs as part of the natural flow, we warm our bodies, settle our breath, and return to the present.

  • Inner Emotional Awareness and Stretches

We'll begin with a body scan, observing ourselves and the dogs. Then, we let the dogs become mirrors, reflecting what we see back to ourselves. Finally, through writing, we have a conversation with what lives deep inside.

  • Mindfulness Meditation with Dogs

The final meditation centers on the dogs' calming presence, closing with loving-kindness—sending blessings to ourselves, the dogs, and all life.

  • Sharing Circle

Freely share and deeply listen to each other's stories.

  • Music and Snacks

  • A Cozy Rooftop Dinner with our Private Chef

  • A Great Opportunity to Unplug, Experience and Connect

*The Internet is required to be turned OFF during the event, yet photos are allowed to be taken during the entire time. (Please let us know if you need internet access, and we will arrange it.)
