In a fast-paced world filled with constant stimulation, some people naturally experience the world more deeply. They may be more aware of subtle sounds, the energy of a space, other people’s emotions, or small details that often go unnoticed.

People with this trait are often referred to as Highly Sensitive People (HSPs).

Being highly sensitive doesn’t mean being emotional or weak under pressure. In fact, HSPs tend to process external stimuli more deeply and thoroughly. Because of this, they may feel tired more easily, need more alone time, and require quiet moments to rest and reset.

You might relate if you:

  • Easily sense and absorb other people’s emotions

  • Feel deeply moved by beauty, music, nature, or small details

  • Need more time to process emotions and experiences

This sensitivity brings depth, empathy, and insight. However, when life is constantly busy and overstimulating, the body and nervous system often don’t get the rest they need, leading to ongoing tension.

For this retreat, we’re bringing a gentle experience to Taichung, created especially for highly sensitive people. Whether you’re looking to better understand yourself, or to learn how to support someone in your life who is highly sensitive, this space offers a calm and nurturing environment.

Through sound healing, meditation, quiet reflection, and body-awareness practices, we’ll slow down in nature and reconnect with our inner rhythm. We’ll explore how to recognize emotional and physical boundaries, and discover ways of resting and recovering that truly work for you.

Whether you identify as highly sensitive yourself, or hope to better support a sensitive partner, family member, or friend, this retreat is an invitation to return to daily life with greater understanding and softness.

Relaxation Guidance: Liz Coetzee

Originally from South Africa, Liz Coetzee came to Taiwan by chance and has been living here for thirty years. Upon her arrival, she was deeply drawn to the traditional healing wisdom of Taiwan and Southeast Asia, which sparked her lifelong exploration of balance, well-being, and longevity for both body and mind. In 2012, she founded Rangoli Health, inspired by the vibrant Rangoli motifs of India’s Diwali Festival—symbols of wholeness and interconnectedness—embodying her philosophy of integrative healing.

As a guide for highly sensitive people, Liz specializes in sound healing, meditation, mindfulness practices, and body awareness to help participants soothe the nervous system, release stress, and reconnect with inner calm and strength. She believes that sensitivity is not a burden, but an innate gift—one that allows for deeper empathy, connection, and insight. With her guidance, you will learn to treat yourself with gentleness, embrace the value of sensitivity, and rediscover balance and ease in everyday life.

Space

As you step into this forest of 400 bald cypress trees, your pace naturally slows and your breathing deepens. It’s a space that invites you to settle into nature and reconnect through fresh air, light, and greenery.

The forest remains the focus, with simple, eco-friendly structures designed to blend into the lakeside surroundings. The space includes a quiet garden, an open lawn, and a warm indoor area just for our group.
